Easy access to Twitter from your desktop

Once you get the knack of Twitter it's hard to spend one single day without publishing a few new tweets to your profile or checking what your friends are up to.

If you've caught the bug too, you're going to find this app really useful. Despite its Spanish name, Toro doesn't have anything to do with bulls: it's an easy-to-use Twitter client based on the Adobe AIR platform with which you can easily write on your own Twitter and follow your friends' updates as well.

Toro may not be as attractive as other Twtiter desktop clients we've tried so far, but it's very easy to use. You can see your personal timeline, Twitter's public timeline and also browse updates from the people you follow and your own followers on two separate lists. Toro has support for replies - but not for direct messages – and also lets you search Twitter.

If Toro seems a bit short on features for you then don't worry because the Feedback section in the program's interface lets you vote for new functions to be implemented in future versions. Another feature I especially liked is the optional notification that appears on the desktop every time any of your friends updates his or her Twitter.

Toro is a simple, handy desktop tool that lets you publish new tweets and follow your friends' updates in a very easy way.
